Ryan joined the Pediatric Pain Management Department at Stanford in May 2023 as the department’s Clinical Research Coordinator after graduating from Pomona College with a degree in Neuroscience and a minor in Asian American Studies. Under the mentorship of Dr. Jennifer Rabbitts, Dr. Cornelius Groenewald, Dr. Laura Simons, and Dr. Rashmi Bhandari, he supported multiple projects across the department focused on pediatric chronic pain, with a personal interest in the impact of racial and ethnic discrimination on pain experiences among Asian American youth. Ryan is deeply interested in understanding patient stories and the biopsychosocial factors that shape lived experiences of pain. He matriculated at the UCSF School of Medicine in August 2025 and continues to collaborate with the lab, committed to advancing access to care and improving outcomes for underserved populations.
